Hitting below a club’s CG produces much higher spin for less distance compared to hitting above its CG.
Amateur golfers hit most of their tee shots below the center of the face as shown in a Golf Digest March 2010 study. Therefore, Dean designed High Heat’s CG to be below the center of the face to reduce the number of amateur golfers’ shots that lose distance.
Amateurs need High Heat’s lower CG which provides more distance. Major brands’ CG is too high causing a majority of shots to lose distance.
In naming “High Heat’s 25% deeper and 18% lower CG as having the most significant technological innovation of any golf club, and the best driver, Gary Van Sickle, of Sports Illustrated and Golf.com stated: “Golf Digest’s illustration clearly shows why High Heat’s lowering the center of gravity below the center of the face, a flock of previously mis-hit shots turn into sweet-spot drives. This is a potential game changer for amateur golfers.
A golf club’s Moment of Inertia (“MOI”) measures the amount its head will twist on off-center hits, which causes a loss of distance and increase in dispersion.
The higher the MOI, the less it will twist. This is very important for amateur golfers, because as Golf Digest’s March 2010 study showed most of the time amateurs do not hit on or very near the center of the face.
High Heat’s 25% deeper CG creates a MOI that is 25% higher than major brands for more distance and less dispersion.
“With its 25% deeper CG which also creates a 25% higher MOI, High Heat provides amateur golfers who do not have Tour players swing speeds or ability to consistently hit close the center of the face significant performance benefits, including more distance and less dispersion that no other club has ever achieved.” Jeff Sheets, head of R&D for several golf companies, sole or co-inventor of 21 golf patents, author of two books on the physics of golf club designs, and clubmaker to 24 Hall of Fame Golfers.
“Dean designed 7 distinct zones of different variable face thicknesses to maximize the distance for off-center hits across High Heat’s hot face. Its Fire Zone Face Technology delivers increased ball speed and reduced spin resulting in --Maximum distance at amateur swing speed-- Maximum forgiveness on off-center hits- Tighter dispersion on good hits and bad. These are not marketing claims. They are proven benefits.” (emphasis original) Ryan Hawk, Editor of Hacker’s Paradise.
The ball jumps off the face unlike any driver I have ever hit; is the longest club I have ever hit, and has a large sweet spot. The Lexus of Amateur Clubs does it again with its High Heat titanium face fairway woods and hybrids. for more greens in regulation and lower scores." Tim Branco, publisher of New England Golf Monthly
“I designed High Heat’s fairway woods and hybrids to have titanium faces because they have the highest trampoline effect of any metal for a much larger sweet spot and more distance on center and off-center hits. This feature was necessary for amateur golfers to play better golf since they hit their fairway woods and hybrids all over the face. Major brands only offer steel faces which have little sweet spots and little trampoline effect on off-center hits which is all the Tour pros need, but is often the only reason amateur golfers’ approach shots land short of the green. This leads to many amateur bogies and higher scores.
Dean Knuth, designer, and co-founder
“With its titanium faces, High Heat’s fairway woods and hybrids produce hot launches, increased accuracy, and more distance than steel faces can provide. As the only company offering titanium faces in fairway woods and hybrids, Knuth Golf has solidified "High Heat as the leading brand in properly addressing the hitting needs of the amateur golfer." Dean Knuth, nicknamed the “Pope of Slope” for inventing the United States Golf Association’s Course Rating and Slope Systems, designed High Heat specifically for amateur golfers to optimize their much lower swing speeds and performance needs than Tour pros.
For inventing the USGA Course Rating and Slope Systems, Dean was one of eight persons named by Golf Digest as inventing the “eight most important technologies” in the last 50 years of the 21st century.
Dean was awarded the “Top Innovator of Golf Clubs” in the industry by Golf, Inc Magazine for his unique Optimal Center of Gravity and Fire Zone Face Technologies.
"I guarantee with High Heat’s Optimal CG Game, and Fire Zone Face Technologies amateurs will land in more fairways with added distance and on more greens with their approach shots for lower scores.”

“If you are going to do one thing with your golf game, the best thing you can do is get yourself some High Heat. Get the driver, get the fairway woods and get the hybrids. It's a win, win, win.”
